Nashik : A domestic dispute turned fatal in Nashik’s Dhruvnagar area along Gangapur Road early Tuesday when a 40-year-old man allegedly killed his 80-year-old mother after she intervened in an argument between him and his wife.
The incident occurred around 12.30am on Tuesday, according to the police.
“The police were notified in the morning after family members realized her condition had turned fatal,” he added. The deceased has been identified as Kamlabai Anaji Valvi. Gangapur police have arrested her son, Tanaji Valvi, a daily-wage worker, on murder charges. Kamlabai suffered severe head trauma and bled profusely. Her family found her unresponsive later in the morning. As the news spread, the police were called to the spot. She was taken to Nashik civil hospital where doctors declared her dead on arrival. Gangapur police registered a murder case and swiftly arrested Tanaji from his residence. Tanaji and his wife, both daily wage workers, reside in Nashik with their four children. Further investigation into the incident is currently underway.
Tanaji, who allegedly struggles with alcohol addiction, returned home heavily intoxicated on Monday night and got into an argument with his wife over the dinner she had prepared.
