i Mumbai: A 75-year-old man from Kerala died after suffering a heart attack while attending the CJP protest at Shivaji Park on Friday evening.
The deceased, identified as Gopalakrishna Subbaiya Pillai, a resident of Dosti West County, B Wing, Thane, had arrived at Shivaji Park around 4.30 pm to witness the protest. On Friday, he came to Dadar and at around 5 pm, complained of chest pain. Police said he was a Keralite and had come to Mumbai and was staying in Thane. However, he succumbed to a heart attack while undergoing treatment at the hospital, police said. With the assistance of his friend and police personnel deployed at the protest site, he was taken to Sushrusha Hospital at Shivaji Park for treatment. Policemen tried to give him CPR.
