KMC has set up 160 immersion tanks across the city and reiterated its appeal to citizens to avoid immersing idols in rivers and lakes. The civic body will also deploy an automatic ramp and 10 floating ramps at Irani quarry to speed up the immersion process. “The civic body has readied a fleet comprising 301 tempos, 1,300 workers, 7 JCBs, 7 dumpers, 8 tractors, 4 water tankers, 2 boom lifts, 5 ambulances, 5 standard rafts, 10 floating rafts, and 2 cranes.
