Asgar Ali Vora met the PM on Sept 8 and sought his intervention in the land dispute
Vora, 81, had purchased around 2,810 sq m of land at Navghar in Bhayandar East in 1989. He has alleged that Swayam Builders and Mehta’s Seven Eleven Constructions took possession of the property in 2011. After pursuing the matter for nearly 15 years, Vora met PM Modi on Sep 8 and complained against Mehta.
BHAYANDAR: Asgar Ali Vora, a schoolmate of Prime Minister Narendra Modi , continues to struggle to regain possession of his land after MLA Narendra Mehta’s company announced that it had relinquished the property. However, another developer is allegedly continuing to retain possession of the land. Following the meeting, Mehta relinquished possession of the land, while the municipal corporation also cancelled the construction permission granted to him.

However, the land has allegedly not been handed back to its original owner. Instead, developers Mukesh Parekh and Mervyn Fernandes are allegedly continuing to retain possession of the property. Following a complaint by Shiv Sena, Navghar police have registered a non-cognisable offence against Seven Eleven Constructions, Parekh and Fernandes. Download the TOI App.
