Mumbai: BKC police registered an FIR on Sept 30 against motorist Moksh Panchal (21) after a complaint by Rinchen Wangde, a 70-year-old retired banker residing at Hyderabad Estate on Napean Sea Road in South Mumbai. Wangde alleged that Panchal’s SUV had hit his car from behind on Dec 20, 2025. Wangde filed a complaint at BKC Police Station on Aug 20 against Moksh Panchal, alleging that he damaged his car in a collision and failed to honour his assurance to pay for repairs. Wangde first submitted an application on June 10, but it was dismissed after he failed to appear at the police station to lodge a complaint.
Because panchal had promised to bear the cost of repairing the damage, he did not file a complaint then.
A BKC police officer said they are trying to retrieve the CCTV footage of December to identify the person whose name was provided by the complainant. “We have sought details from the regional transport office (RTO) to get details of the SUV owner that dashed into Wangde’s car in December while it was stopped at the NSE Signal, South Bound, BKC, Bandra East,” said the officer. A police officer said Panchal stopped responding after receiving the repair estimate.
Panchal provided his mobile number and offered compensation, prompting Wangde not to approach police immediately.
