A family celebrated the birth of a girl child after a four-generation wait
President of Parli Vaijnath Municipal Council, Padmashri Dharmadhikari said the birth of Gargi on the sacred land of Parli Vaijnath, one of the 12 Jyotirlinga sites, after wait of four generations by the family is a moment of immense joy.
Grandfather Limbaji Dahiphale, who is serving as a school principal, said the family had been yearning for a girl child. We are glad that God has now blessed my younger son with a girl child,” he said. The girl’s father, Hrishikesh, who is a pharmacist by profession, said it is a great fortune to have a daughter in the family. I personally believe that daughters are more caring and loving towards their father compared to sons,” he said. The family said the decision to hold a grand celebration for the newborn’s homecoming was taken at the hospital itself. “Dahiphale family is an example for the entire society as their gesture overcomes traditional gender biases,” she said
“No girl child had been born in our lineage for almost four generations. I have two sons and my elder son has one son. “For so many years, we missed a girl child in our family, especially on occasions like Raksha Bandhan and Bhau Beej.
