Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: Deputy chief minister and Beed district guardian minister Sunetra Pawar on Wednesday directed officials to complete all pending work for the Beed-Pune railway service on a war footing, setting Sept 17 (Marathwada Liberation Day) as the target date for its launch. Generations waited for effective rail connectivity for Beed, and that wait is set to end on Sept 17,” he said.
She said efforts were under way to connect Beed with Mumbai by Dec. This connectivity will play a vital role in realising the vision of a developed Beed,” she said in a social media post, recalling that bringing Beed onto the national rail map was a long-cherished dream of late Ajit Pawar during his tenure as the district’s guardian minister. Pawar said the Pune link would provide Beed with direct and stronger connectivity to western Maharashtra, boosting agriculture, industry, education, trade and social development while reducing travel time and costs for citizens.
“Beed-Pune and further Beed-Mumbai is not just a railway service but a new lifeline for the development of Beed. Beed Municipal Council vice-president Vinod Muluk welcomed the development, saying the proposed rail links to Pune and Mumbai would accelerate local growth. Pawar reviewed the progress of the Ahilyanagar-Beed-Parli Vaijnath railway line and the proposed Beed-Pune and Beed-Mumbai services at a meeting in Mumbai on Wednesday. “Even if Ajitdada is not with us today, deputy CM Sunetra ji is leaving no stone unturned to fulfil his dream.
