Pune: A techie’s emotion and loads of online content she watched snowballed into the audio clip that triggered an online stir across the state over the past one week on girls’ alleged abduction in the city, Pune police Crime Branch sleuths said after thoroughly questioning her. The police personnel said several social media influencers made reels based on it. Claims such as “an attempt to abduct a girl from Pune’s Suncity area off Sinhagad Road”, “girls are being abducted onthe pretext of seeking help” and “123 girls went missing from Pune in 22 hours” flashed on social media after the techie posted the clip. The techie admitted to having acted under the influence of her emotions after repeatedly watching such reels and movie clips, police said.
