Deputy CM Sunetra Pawar
The notices were issued on Oct 21. Police said the two OSDs had been told to appear for questioning over their possible links to the transaction involving nearly 40 acres of land. Last Nov, Khadak police had registered an FIR under sections 201 (public servant framing an incorrect document), 316(2) and 316(5) (criminal breach of trust), 318(3) and 318(4) (cheating), 336(3) and 336(4), 338 and 340 (offences relating to forgery and forged documents), 61(2) (criminal conspiracy) and 3(5) (common intention) of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
A senior police officer confirmed that notices had been served on the two officers but declined to disclose details of the summons or the specific scope of the inquiry.
Investigators said the duo might possess crucial information about the deal. Both OSDs had previously served as personal assistants to then deputy CM Ajit Pawar , according to police. “The role of these OSDs is likely to be an important aspect of the investigation,” the senior officer said.
Pune: Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of Pune police has issued notices to two officers on special duty (OSDs) attached to deputy chief minister Sunetra Pawar’s office as part of its investigation into the alleged irregularities in the Mundhwa govt land deal linked to Amadea Enterprises LLP, a firm associated with Pawar’s son Parth. Nine people were named as accused in the case, though Parth did not figure in the FIR. The probe was later transferred to EOW.
“EOW has recovered significant digital evidence, including online chats, during the course of the probe. We are now analysing communications involving the two officers and other individuals connected to the case to establish if the exchanges reveal any leads about the alleged land deal irregularities,” the officer added.
