Counting of votes is scheduled for Tuesday, Oct 27, at Mankapur Stadium. Nagpur: With the Nagpur Division Graduates’ Constituency going to poll on Friday, the divisional administration has completed preparations for voting, which will take place from 8am to 4pm through paper ballots.

Meanwhile, the district election machinery on Thursday dispatched polling parties for deployment across 445 polling stations in six districts of Nagpur division. To facilitate voter participation, the state govt has announced special casual leave for eligible employees enrolled as voters in the constituency.

Divisional commissioner and returning officer Vijayalakshmi Bidari said the leave would be granted over and above their regular casual leave entitlement. For voters employed in private establishments, govt has doubled the special voting relaxation from two to four hours, considering the additional travel time required to reach polling stations located at distant locations. Additional labour commissioner Kishor Dahiphalkar has urged private sector employers to ensure that all eligible employees receive the concession to exercise their franchise. Election officials oversaw the distribution of ballot papers, polling materials and other logistical arrangements. Following polling, sealed ballot boxes and other election materials will be stored at Mankapur Stadium, with designated officials responsible for their receipt, verification and secure storage until counting begins.

Election observer Harshdeep Kamble earlier inspected the counting centre at Mankapur Stadium and reviewed arrangements for counting tables, seating of candidates and their agents, strong rooms and parking facilities. Bidari, on Thursday evening, also visited the strong room.
