KALYAN : Former BJP MLA from Kalyan West, Narendra Pawar, has resigned from all positions he held in the party following the registration of a gang rape case against him. Pawar has sent a letter to BJP state president Ravindra Chavan, requesting that his resignation be accepted. Pawar was also serving as the Maharashtra state president of the BJP’s Bhatke Vimukta Aghadi. His decision to step down from all party posts after the case was registered has triggered discussions in political circles in Kalyan. In his letter, Pawar claimed that the cases registered against him were false and alleged that a conspiracy had been hatched to defame him. Download the TOI App.
The resignation comes few hours after today an FIR registered against Pawar and his associate Shailesh Patil under gang rape charges.
