They targetted the state govt and local administration for failing to provide relief to farmers. The residents marched under senior Congress leader and former minister Balasaheb Thorat’s leadership, starting from the Yashodhan office and concluding at the sub-divisional office, where Thorat presented a memorandum of demands on behalf of taluka residents. Carrying wilted crops and riding bullock carts and tractors, the protesters raised slogans demanding that the state govt immediately declare a drought and release substantial financial assistance for farmers and agricultural labourers. Former MLC Sudhir Tambe and Congress taluka president Ajay Fatangare led the rally alongside local agrarian bodies.
