Pune : Homebuyers across the district face an agonizing wait for compensation and refund dues, as 176 recovery cases involving Rs 106.72 crore issued by the Maharashtra Real Estate Regulatory Authority (MahaRERA) Pune benches remain pending. This pendency is part of a larger recovery drive covering 475 cases worth Rs 332.53crore across the district, according to data from the district collector’s office. Adding to the delay, officials flagged 13 untraceable property cases worth Rs 5.85 crore, which have been referred back to MahaRERA. Further, in 24 cases worth Rs 14.86 crore, auctions were conducted but failed to yield any recovery, leaving buyers with no clear timeline for a resolution. Geographically, Haveli taluka has the highest volume of unresolved disputes, with 46 cases worth Rs 45.59 crore. Out of the total cases initiated in the district so far, 180 cases worth Rs 119.08 crore have been settled through mutual compromises, and 16 cases worth Rs 9.53 crore have successfully gone to auction. Warrants have been issued in 133 cases worth Rs 87.01 crore, while another 82 cases worth Rs 86.02 crore are currently mired in legal battles before various courts, further delaying relief.
