He said there would be no compromise on citizens’ health and industries responsible for environmental violations would face strict action. Mahajan reviewed complaints from affected families about skin ailments and other health problems allegedly linked to polluted groundwater. He directed Nashik Municipal Corporation officials to immediately ensure an adequate supply of safe drinking water in affected areas. To prevent the use of polluted groundwater, he instructed the authorities concerned to seal hand pumps and borewells in the affected localities. The minister also spoke with industries minister Uday Samant and environment minister Pankaja Munde , urging swift intervention and coordinated action by the departments concerned. The minister also inspected the Common Effluent Treatment Plant (CETP) project being developed in Ambad MIDC for treatment of industrial wastewater. Expressing concern over delays in the project, he directed officials and contractors to expedite the work and ensure its completion within the stipulated timeline.
