A 44-year-old businessman lodged a complaint with the Sahar police station on Wednesday. He claims that four individuals from a family in Mira Road misappropriated goods and cash valued at Rs 25.9 lakh. The items were reportedly entrusted to two women in Dubai for delivery to Mumbai.
Police said Siddiqui, a Mumbra resident involved in transporting chocolates, mobile phones and cosmetics, said he had travelled to Dehra, Dubai, for work on July 27-2026. Ramisa was scheduled to arrive at Mumbai airport on flight FZ 445 at 11.25pm on Aug 4, while Rehamunissa was expected later. He said enquiries at Mumbai Customs on Aug 9 indicated that no woman had been detained and no such items seized.
He alleged that the accused later gave evasive replies and failed to return the entrusted property,” said a Sahar police officer. As Ramisa and Rehamunissa were known to his sister and visiting Dubai, he asked them to carry items for his family. “Siddiqui alleged that Ramisa subsequently claimed customs officials had detained her and deposited the goods and cash. Police probing the case are yet to make an arrest.
