Kolhapur : Water supply in several areas of Kolhapur will be disrupted on Monday and Tuesday due to maintenance work by the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) at Kalammawadi 33 KV substation. As a result, residents in wards A, B and E are likely to experience low-pressure water supply on both days.
Kolhapur Municipal Corporation (KMC) water supply engineer Harshjit Ghatge said the installation of isolators at the substation would disrupt power supply to Kalammawadi direct pipeline scheme. During this period, water would be supplied through the Shingnapur, Balinge and Nagdevwadi pumping stations, he said. Water supply to wards C and D will continue as usual through the Balinge and Nagdevwadi pumping stations. The affected areas include parts of wards A and B like Kalamba, Pachgaon, Shivaji Peth, Mangalwar Peth, Subhash Nagar, RK Nagar, Bharati Vidyapeeth, MHADA Colony, Shenda Park, Rajiv Gandhi Vasahat, Jawahar Nagar and adjoining rural areas.
Normal water supply is expected to resume on Wednesday.
