MUMBAI: Maharashtra has secured second place among general category states in the Renewable Energy State Assessment Framework (RE-SAF) 2025-26, earning national recognition for its renewable energy initiatives and power sector reforms. Vice-president CP Radhakrishnan presented the award at the Bharat Renewable Energy Summit and Expo 2026, held at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi on Thursday. A major contributor to the state’s performance has been the Mukhyamantri Saur Krushi Vahini Yojana (MSKVY) 2.0, which promotes decentralised solar power generation for agricultural feeders. The scheme has a target of 16,000 MW, with the entire capacity awarded and around 7,000 MW already commissioned. More than 4,500 agricultural feeders and 1,200 substations have been solarised under the scheme, benefiting over 18 lakh farmers.
