Mumbai: The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has suspended the licence of Country Club in Andheri West as part of an action against eight establishments in the city.

Following inspections, the food licences of five establishments in total were suspended, while three licences were cancelled due to food safety and hygiene non-compliance. ​Among those whose licences were suspended are Cafe Sultan in Kalina, Lo Fresh Food in Marol, Suraj Lama Momos in Andheri West, and Cafe Pakeezah in Santacruz West. ​In a press statement, the FDA said, “It was found that the hygiene and health requirements necessary for the safe and clean handling of food items were not being satisfactorily followed. ” There were no further details provided regarding the establishment. The three establishments whose licences were cancelled include Blinkit on SV Road in Vile Parle, as “requirements for running a food business in a safe manner were not complied with”. Copenhagen Hospitality in Vile Parle, which operated La Pino’z Pizza, had its licence cancelled for failing to meet baseline safety standards in food handling and storage, while Eatclubs in Bandra (West) saw its licence revoked following deficiencies in safe food handling and a failure to implement preventive measures to avoid contamination.
