Nagar Sabha held at Trimbakeshwar town

Wonder if Kumbh Mela was announced a year back and govt didn’t know about since past 10 years,” said Ramesh Bhusare, a shopkeeper.
“I will convey your feelings, grievances, and pain to the concerned authorities,” he said, adding that a comprehensive report on the proceedings would be forwarded to senior officials. “What about my shop and earning of bread and butter for me and my family? You took away the shop but didn’t give any alternate arrangement for me. You tell me about it in the last moments. “At the time when Prime Minister Narendra Modi can announce four times compensation for properties acquired in Kashi for the expansion plans. Wonder why the same rule is not applicable for Trimbakeshwar?” asked Keshav Gaikwad, another resident.
They also questioned why development activities had been hurriedly undertaken only in the past year, despite the Kumbh Mela being held every 12 years. Citizens, elected representatives and saints criticised the manner in which development work was undertaken, alleging that locals were displaced without being taken into confidence. The meeting, chaired by municipal council president Triveni Tungar in the presence of MLA Hiraman Khoskar and tehsildar Govind Jadhav, turned stormy as residents confronted officials over alleged lack of transparency, unfulfilled rehabilitation promises and poor coordination among departments.
