Nashik : The civic body has served notices to around 300 residential and commercial properties after mosquito breeding spots were detected during a citywide anti-dengue drive, and warned of penalties for repeat violations as dengue cases continue to rise. The city reported 40 dengue cases in Aug, taking the total number of confirmed cases this year to 96. The decision follows a review meeting by municipal commissioner Manisha Khatri on the city’s preparedness against dengue, malaria and swine flu . Khatri also inspected facilities, medicine stocks and isolation wards at Zakir Hussain Hospital. The crackdown comes amid an increase in dengue cases. Khatri also reviewed swine flu preparedness. Separate isolation wards have been set up at Zakir Hussain Hospital and the new Bytco Hospital, while medicines are being made available free of cost to swine flu patients through NMC-run hospitals.
