NHAI, Karvir police launch anti-encroachment drive on Kolhapur-Ratnagiri Highway

A total of 160 four-wheelers and 49 two-wheelers parked on the roadside for a long time were removed in the anti-encroachment drive in Kolhapur

Because people, including hotel customers, parked on the road to eat on handcarts, accidents often occurred. Many people have lost their drives, including pedestrians,” Appasaheb Pawar, deputy superintendent of Karvir police, told TOI .

Nandkumar More, inspector of the traffic police, said, “We appeal to all vehicle owners that their vehicles should not be found parked on the road in such a way that they are covered in dust in connection with the upcoming Navaratra festival. “The number of accidents on this stretch of the Kolhapur-Ratnagiri Highway has increased. Many hotels are located along this road. People should take care of vehicles and ensure that two-wheelers are not double-parked; otherwise, notices will be pasted on these vehicles in a joint action with KMC. If these vehicles are not removed despite the notice, they will be towed, and penal action will follow against the vehicle owner. ”

Kolhapur: National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) and Karveer police jointly launched an anti-encroachment drive along a highway stretch between Shivaji Bridge in the city and Waghbil near Panhala Fort on Thursday amid growing number of accidents.
