Pillar worship ceremony held ahead of the staging of ‘Praudh Pratap Purandar


Organisers said the play aims to bring alive the story of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, the rise of Swarajya and the sacrifices made by Maratha warriors through a large-scale theatrical presentation. “In these challenging times of drought, we want to connect the younger generation with the inspiring legacy of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, the establishment of Swarajya and the bravery of warriors who fought for Hindavi Swarajya,” said Rajendra Sabale, founding president of Devendra Seva Mahotsav. The ceremony saw the presence of guardian minister Sanjay Shirsat, minister Atul Save, former Union minister Bhagwat Karad, MLAs Prashant Bamb, Anuradha Chavan and Suhas Shirsat, along with other public representatives and dignitaries. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s followers, with organisers describing the initiative as an effort to promote historical awareness and instil pride in Maharashtra’s legacy among young people. Former MLC Sanjay Kenekar, BJP city president Kishor Shitole and several elected representatives and civic leaders were also present at the ceremony.
