Pune: A 28-year-old man allegedly received chicken biryani while he had ordered veg biryani from an eatery on Porwal Road in Lohegaon through an online food delivery app on Tuesday night.
Inspector Sampatrao Raut of Vishrantwadi police said, “The complainant and his family members follow a vegetarian diet. We have summoned the eatery owner and will record his statement,” Raut said. After reading the eatery’s menu, he placed an order for veg biryani. The complainant opened the parcel and ate a few morsels before realising it contained chicken. “Following this, the complainant vomited a couple of times and felt dizzy. He then approached us with the parcel of biryani along with the receipt of the online order mentioning veg biryani.
The Dhanori resident, who works as a manager at a private finance company in Yerawada, lodged a complaint with the Vishrantwadi police on Wednesday.
