Pune: Baramati City police are searching for a man who allegedly duped a farmer and his brother of Rs7.80 lakh on the promise of securing them jobs in central govt departments. The 41-year-old farmer from Baramati lodged a complaint with the Baramati City police on Monday.
Baramati Police Investigate Job Fraud Case
The Baramati City police have launched an investigation into a job fraud case involving an individual posing as an Indian Police Service (IPS) officer. According to police reports, the complainant and his brother were introduced to the accused through a mutual acquaintance in 2022. The accused allegedly claimed he could secure a position for the complainant at the Food Corporation of India (FCI) and a customs job for his brother.
After making payments for these supposed job placements, the complainant repeatedly requested a refund but did not receive any money back. Following this, he filed a complaint with the Baramati City police, prompting the ongoing investigation.
An officer involved in the case stated, ‘Our investigations are on.’
