Radha said the task force would release and implement actionable reforms in continuous cycles of 15 days or so. Pune: Guided by the core principle of ‘no question paper, no leak’, a high-level task force has proposed a comprehensive overhaul of Maharashtra’s recruitment examination system. The state govt’s seven-member task force, headed by Additional Chief Secretary (Services) V Radha, was constituted to recommend reforms in the recruitment system. “In the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) model, question creators contribute to a broad question bank without knowing which specific exam would have their questions. “The second vulnerability was from the printing. We would make fundamental changes in this aspect. There would not be any eye contact with the question paper at any level. Technological reforms and structural norms would remove physical and visual contact with question papers at all levels. The committee identified two main issues concerning MPSC. “One was manpower. Their sanctioned staff structure was very old, and we were taking up the matter of increasing it now. The govt would support them in this. The second issue was technology. They need a better governance platform and an IT platform. “The long-term structural reforms would take time. The question paper should be prepared at the very last minute. The way SSC and others have been doing it. Until we achieved that, we would not be able to completely prevent leaks. ” She acknowledged that delays of one-and-a-half to two years between advertisements and postings have trapped students in endless exam cycles. The committee should understand the sentiments of students, who opposed online examinations. It was not just for one year; online MPSC examinations would not be allowed for the next hundreds of years either. Let anyone come and let them use as much power as they want,” he posted.
