Rasne said the extended Metro timings would help visitors travel to and from central Pune without inconvenience and ease pressure at key stations. Metro officials said ridership had risen sharply during the festival. Pune: Metro will run till 2am from Thursday till the last day of Ganeshotsav to facilitate the movement of devotees visiting central parts of the city. Maha Metro has urged commuters to use stations like PMC, Chhatrapati Sambhaji Udyan and Deccan Gymkhana instead of crowding Mandai station. Kasba Peth MLA Hemant Rasne also appealed to devotees to alight at alternate stations and walk to the festival hubs, while using Mandai station mainly for return journeys. Trains are running at five-minute intervals during evening peak hours, and commuters have been advised to follow station instructions to ensure smooth operations. Curbs will be enforced on stretches of Laxmi Road, Shivaji Road and the Appa Balwant Chowk-Moti Chowk corridor. Traffic will be diverted on parts of Bajirao Road, Tilak Road and Laxmi Road to prevent congestion. Authorities may also relax one-way traffic rules on select roads based on local conditions. Roadside parking will remain prohibited on key stretches of Shivaji Road, Bajirao Road, Tilak Road and Shastri Road. Download the TOI App.
