Pune: Wakad police on Wednesday arrested three men from an inter-district gang and seized 25kg of ganja worth Rs13 lakh from them.
They have been identified as Aba Khalate (47) of Kasarsai in Mulshi, Pramod Garudkar (24) of Ahilyanagar and Gorakshnathe Walke (26) of Beed. They have been remanded in police custody till Sept 11. He said the investigation revealed that the gang was involved in inter-district ganja smuggling.
Darade said that during patrolling, his team noticed a car near a bridge close to Kaspte Chowk. We recovered 25kg of ganja worth Rs13 lakh from the car,” Darade said. Our investigation is on,” he said.
A Wakad police team led by assistant police inspector Shriniwas Darade arrested the accused near Kaspte Vasti. The police also seized a car that was used to transport the ganja. The police found the movements of the occupants suspicious and took them into custody. “We checked the car and found ganja inside. “They had brought the ganja to sell it in Pimpri-Chinchwad.
