She said the adoption was aimed at ensuring the village’s comprehensive development amid the drought gripping the district. The move comes despite Munde being a frequent target of Jarange’s criticism during the agitation. The directions came as the district administration stepped up measures to tackle water scarcity and provide relief across the drought-hit villages of Jalna district.
Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: Jalna district guardian minister Pankaja Munde on Friday announced the adoption of Antarwali Sarati, the village that became the nerve centre of the Maratha reservation movement led by activist Manoj Jarange.
Munde said she would visit the village next month after the model code of conduct is lifted as part of govt’s village adoption scheme.
