Nashik: The election department has started issuing notices to around 7.34 lakh voters across Nashik district after software-based scrutiny and the recent Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise identified unmapped profiles and technical inconsistencies in electoral rolls. Others were flagged by the department’s software system across 13 technical parameters. Across Nashik’s 15 assembly constituencies, 3.02 lakh voters were found to be unmapped, while 4.31 lakh mapped voters were flagged for technical anomalies, taking the total number of notices and proposed hearings to 7.34 lakh. The four urban constituencies of Nashik East, Nashik Central, Nashik West and Deolali account for 1.66 lakh unmapped voters and 1.23 lakh anomaly-flagged voters, resulting in nearly 2.90 lakh hearings. Nashik West recorded the highest number of unmapped voters at 52,133 and the highest overall hearings at 92,237. The remaining 11 rural constituencies account for 1.36 lakh unmapped voters and 3.07 lakh voters with software-detected anomalies, leading to 4.44 lakh hearings. Malegaon Central registered the highest number of software-flagged anomalies in the district, with 43,572 cases.

Authorities are examining individual cases and will assist voters in resolving discrepancies wherever required,” deputy district election officer Madhumati Sardesai said. “Voters receiving notices have been directed to appear before the designated election officer on scheduled dates with valid identification documents for verification and correction of records,” an official said. “The process of serving these notices has started.
