MUMBAI: Lawrence Bishnoi is lodged in Gujarat’s Sabarmati Central Jail, while his younger brother Anmol Bishnoi is in Delhi’s Tihar Jail. Their names have returned to the spotlight after two men claiming links to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang took responsibility for the firing at actor Tiger Shroff’s car in Mumbai’s Juhu area. Lawrence Bishnoi is lodged in Sabarmati Central Jail in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. Despite being behind bars, his alleged criminal network has come under scrutiny over claims that gang operations continue through associates outside prison. Anmol was also taken into custody in a case concerning an alleged nexus between criminal gangs in India and the Babbar Khalsa International organisation. Three motorcycle-borne assailants, dressed in white shirts, opened fire at the actor’s car as it was leaving the venue. Seven rounds were fired. The attackers fled towards SV Road and Vile Parle railway station, with one accomplice waiting on a motorcycle. A video circulating on social media appeared to show one shooter’s gun jamming as he attempted to fire another round at close range. Shroff escaped without any bullet injuries but sustained minor abrasions from shattered glass. The injured were taken to hospital for treatment. After the firing, two men identifying themselves as Anil Pandit and Harman Sandhu claimed responsibility in a social media post attributed to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. The message threatened others in the Mumbai film industry who work with Salman Khan. In an audio message shared by the Mumbai Crime Branch, Pandit also demanded that Salman apologise to Lawrence Bishnoi and the Bishnoi community, threatening the actor and his family if he did not comply.
