Preliminary checks indicated that a man of a similar age had gone missing from Malwani in Malad around that time. The woman, Sonam Shukla, was allegedly strangled with a wire and her hands and feet were tied up.
They believe the man was aged 30-35. Versova police registered a murder case against an unidentified person. They are trying to establish the man’s identity based on ‘Om’ and ‘Basant Lal’ tattooed on his right hand. They are also checking missing person complaints filed at police stations across the city. The corpse was sent to Cooper Hospital for a postmortem examination.
