Kochi : The high court has ordered that if funds to relocate electric poles jutting onto the road near Pachalam overbridge are not allotted by Sept 16, the Kochi corporation secretary and the KSEB Ernakulam executive engineer shall appear personally before the court on that date.

During the hearing, the HC noted conflicting submissions by the corporation and KSEB regarding sanction of the Rs 1.60 lakh required for the project. Accordingly, the matter was posted to Sept 16. The petition pointed out that at the junction, where Chathiyath Road intersects Mathai Manjooran Road, traffic snarls had developed due to KSEB’s electrical installations.
