CM V D Satheesan presents Aster Guardians Global Nursing Award to Agimol Pradeep in Kochi on Saturday
Kochi : Nurse Agimol Pradeep from UK has emerged as the winner of Aster Guardians Global Nursing Award 2026 from more than 1,34,000 registrations across 214 countries and economies. She received the prestigious $250,000 award at a ceremony in Kochi on Saturday. Since its launch in 2021, Aster Guardians Global Nursing Award has grown into a global platform that celebrates nurses who are advancing the profession and creating meaningful change, said Aster officials.

Agimol is a senior transplant coordinator at King’s College Hospital and honorary senior lecturer at University of Salford, UK. Chief minister V D Satheesan presented the award to Agimol. “I feel immensely proud that the world’s biggest nursing award, Aster Guardians Global Nursing Award has come to Keralam. It is a recognition of the fact that the state produces the highest number of nurses not just to India but globally. Hence one will always find a Malayali nurse even in the remotest hospital in any part of the world. The ceremony also featured a special message from Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, director-general of World Health Organization , who congratulated the finalists. He acknowledged the important role of Aster Guardians Global Nursing Award in celebrating nurses and their contribution to healthcare worldwide. Dr Azad Moopen, founder and executive chairman, Aster DM Quality Care Ltd, Alisha Moopen, executive director, TJ Wilson, director, and Varun Khanna, managing director and group CEO of Aster DM Quality Care Ltd, were present during the occasion.
