Thrissur : CPM general secretary M A Baby has dismissed the enforcement directorate ’s (ED) summons to leader of opposition Pinarayi Vijayan calling it “old wine in a new bottle”. Baby said the allegations cited by ED had been raised earlier. “Everyone knows the fate of cases initiated by ED,” Baby said, adding that cases registered against AAP functionaries Manish Sisodia and Arvind Kejriwal had been initiated without evidence.
A Congress MLA had even approached the Supreme Court with similar allegations, but the apex court had dismissed the petition, he claimed. He was speaking to the media in Thrissur after presenting the award instituted in memory of the renowned Marxist theoretician V Aravindakshan to SFI activist Aishe Ghosh. Baby expressed confidence that Vijayan would effectively deal with the latest development, noting that he had faced numerous allegations and what he described as fabricated cases in the past. CPM would fight the case both politically and legally, Baby added. Download the TOI App.
