Kochi : The state govt has sanctioned over Rs 13 crore for extensive road renovation works across key urban corridors in Kochi and Muvattupuzha. A sum of Rs 7.5 crore has been allotted to renovate the Edapally-Ernakulam Madhava Pharmacy Jn Road, said Trikkakkara MLA Uma Thomas. Laid with interlock tiles in 2019, the surface of the road section near Peykappilli has severely degraded over time.

For this, a sum of Rs 4 crore has been allotted for essential resurfacing and structural maintenance along the heavily travelled sub-arterial link. Also, a sum of Rs 2.10 crore has been allotted to repair damaged sections near Muvattupuzha, addressing safety hazards caused by deteriorating surface tiles. The Edappally–Pookattupadi–Muvattupuzha Road, which is in a deteriorated condition, will also be restored.
