HC dispenses with appearance of HR&CE head in encroachments case
In 2022, the court directed the authorities to issue proper notices to all parties who are said to be in possession of the properties. Complaining that the earlier order passed by the court in 2022 has not been complied with, Radhakrishnan filed the present contempt petition in 2024. He filed a status report detailing the steps taken to remove the encroachments. On receipt of such notices, the parties are directed to file their respective objections along with documents available with them to the authority concerned.
Madurai: Madras high court on Thursday dispensed with the personal appearance of Hindu religious and charitable endowments (HR and CE) department commissioner, after he filed a status report on the steps taken to comply with an order passed by the court directing removal of encroachments in Kalyana Pasupatheeswarar temple land parcels in Karur district. Pursuant to the earlier direction, HR and CE commissioner T G Vinay appeared before the court on Thursday.
