He said people wanted to know what action IUML and KMCC top brass would take against those found responsible. IUML state general secretary PMA Salam said the party had filed the complaint, ensured that an FIR was registered and helped pave the way for the arrest of the suspects. Meanwhile, IUML has broken its silence, promising strict action if any KMCC office-bearer is found to have played a role in the heist. Nassi Villath, a former KMCC member who faced disciplinary action after raising the issue at a party forum, alleged that an office-bearer of the Qatar KMCC was involved in the crime. Meanwhile, more audio messages purportedly involving Bombay Shaji, a key accused in the case, have surfaced. In the messages, Shaji claims that the actual masterminds behind the robbery are still at large. He alleged that they are bribing the police and attempting to frame the accused. Salam maintained that investigation and legal action were the responsibility of the police and judiciary, not the party. He, however, warned that any KMCC member found involved in the crime would be expelled from the party and face exemplary punishment. Download the TOI App.
