The deceased was Kunjamma (62). Kochi : An elderly woman was allegedly killed by her husband at their residence in Happy Nagar, Kothamangalam, around 2am on Tuesday.
Kuriakose P V, 67, allegedly stabbed his wife with a knife following a dispute, according to the FIR registered by the Kothamangalam police. Police registered a case under Section 103 of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
Police said the accused suspected that Kunjamma was having an affair with a neighbour. His son-in-law, who lives nearby, then informed the police,” a police officer said. The accused was subsequently arrested and produced before a court, police said. Police said further investigation is under way to ascertain the circumstances leading to the alleged attack.
An official complaint in the case was filed by the accused’s son-in-law, who lives in the area. “After committing the murder, the accused contacted his son, who lives outside the state. The body was shifted from the residence for postmortem. After the autopsy, the mortal remains were handed over to the relatives.
