Kochi : District anti-narcotic special action force (Dansaf) team of Kochi City Police arrested a 26-year-old man with 38.75g of MDMA from Thrikkakara police station limits on Friday as part of Operation Toofan.
It was Varun who used to supply the drug to Sadiq as well, according to the excise. The accused is Saidali of Thiruvambadi, Alappuzha. He was arrested from a lodge near the Vazhakkala-Muleppadam Road. The police also seized the vehicle allegedly used to transport the synthetic drug. The arrest was made by the team led by narcotics cell assistant commissioner Manoj Kumar R, under the supervision of DCPs Mohit Rawat and Arun K Pavithran, following directions from Kochi city police commissioner Kaliraj Mahesh Kumar. A week ago, the excise department arrested one of the key players, Varun Dev, who was involved in MDMA smuggling to Kochi and seized over 230g of MDMA from him after intercepting his vehicle at Vyttila. One of his accomplices, Sadiq, was caught with 390g of MDMA last month. He is also suspected to be the supplier of MDMA to others, Kevin and Neethu, who were arrested in another drug case. The vehicle from which the latest seizure was made belonged to Neethu.
