Kochi : Kunjithai native Vintumol, 31, died after falling from a moving private bus in North Paravur on Monday.
Vadakkekara Police said she was rushed to a hospital soon after the fall, but her life couldn’t be saved. A probe is on to identify whether the door of the bus was left open, causing the fall, said an officer. The police have taken the private bus into custody and registered an FIR. The police completed inquest proceedings and moved the body to a hospital for an autopsy.
The body would be handed over to the family after an autopsy on Tuesday.
There are reports that the door was not fully closed due to some technical issues,“ said an officer. “There was no CCTV inside the bus; hence, we are collecting eyewitness statements. The accident seemed to have happened soon after she got on the bus. A sudden jerk when the bus went over a bump seemed to have made her lose balance.
The accident occurred near Thuruthippuram in North Paravur around 2.30 pm. Vintumol, who works as a lab technician at a hospital in Thuruthipuram, was returning home after work when the mishap occurred.
