A team led by Aluva CI P M Shameer arrested Muhammad Rizwan, 24, of Thaikkattukara. The accused have been booked under provisions of the law aimed at preventing violence against healthcare institutions, carrying a maximum sentence of five years’ imprisonment and a fine of up to Rs 1 lakh. Police said Rizwan is also an accused in several cases, including the alleged assault of KSRTC employees after stopping a bus at Kuttamassery in April. Rizwan was hiding in Thrissur following the incident. The second accused was arrested the day after the incident and is currently remanded in Aluva sub-jail. Download the TOI App.
Kochi : Police on Monday arrested the prime accused in the assault of a nursing assistant at Aluva district hospital. The assault occurred on Friday night after the accused allegedly complained that a wound wasn’t dressed properly.
