The LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) and traffic surveys required for the FLS were under way and the DPR was being prepared, the affidavit said. The court also sought the DPR’s status, including whether it had been submitted to the competent authority for approval and sanction. A bench of Chief Justice Soumen Sen and Justice V M Syam Kumar issued the directive while hearing a PIL by C N Vijaya Krishnan of Choloor in Kozhikode, who sought expeditious implementation of the project. In July, the general manager had filed an affidavit stating that the railway board had sanctioned a final location survey for the project. Once completed, the report would be submitted to the Railway Board for consideration, it added. At a hearing in the first week of Oct, the bench noted that three months had passed since the affidavit and that it had expected the DPR to be ready by then. Download the TOI App.
