Man injured in attack over daughter’s affair dies days after wife’s death
The deceased, Muthukrishnan, had been undergoing treatment for injuries sustained when Gnana Prakash, 23, a parotta master from Anandapuram, attacked his family with a sickle on October 22. Police said the attack was triggered by the family’s opposition to Gnana Prakash’s relationship with Muthukrishnan’s 15-year-old daughter. Enraged, Prakash allegedly barged into their house and attacked the couple and their son before abducting the 15-year-old girl and her 14-year-old sibling on a two-wheeler.
Police have altered the case to double murder. The girl had reportedly stopped communicating with him following her parents’ objections. Thattarmadam police rescued both girls from the accused’s house within an hour and arrested him. Following Muthukrishnan’s death, police initiated proceedings against Prakash, who is in judicial custody.
Madurai: A man from Sathankulam, who was critically injured in an attack that killed his wife, died at Tirunelveli Government Medical College Hospital on Wednesday night, six days after the incident.
