Palakkad : Police in Palakkad have detained the male friend of Nivedya, the woman accused of killing her two children in Kozhinjampara, suspecting his involvement in the crime.
The victims, Jennifer Juliet, 5, and Robin Christopher, 3, were found dead in a water tank inside the bathroom of their rented house at Menonpara Koorankattu on Sept 29. Because they were an obstacle to her plans to live independently and pursue a career in modelling, initially, Nivedya allegedly told police that she killed the children. Police had initially proceeded with the investigation based on her statement. However, fresh suspicions about the possible involvement of another person emerged during evidence collection at the house where the murders took place. Kozhinjampara Police now suspect that Nivedya may have committed the crime to enable her to live with her male friend. Download the TOI App.
