The boy, identified as Tamilselvan , was reported missing on the night of September 6 by his mother, Yogalakshmi , a resident of Vallalar Cross Street in Koodal Pudur, according to police sources. Koodal Pudur police subsequently registered a boy missing case under Section 194 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS). Considering the gravity and sensitive nature of the allegations, Madurai city police commissioner S Rajendran recommended transferring the case to a CB-CID. Acting on his recommendation, the director general of police ordered a CB-CID investigation. Download the TOI App.
Madurai : The investigation into the mysterious death of a boy from Koodal Pudur has been handed over to the Crime Branch-CID (CB-CID) after his family raised suspicions of murder.
A search operation was launched, and on September 7, the boy’s body was recovered floating in a pond behind a sewage tank in JJ Nagar. Following the recovery, legal sections in the case were altered accordingly. Suspecting foul play, the mother submitted representations stating that her son may have been murdered and urged authorities to conduct an impartial probe.
