“Despite prevailing drought conditions, nearly 2 tmcft of Pranahita river water flows unused daily. Constructing a temporary coffer dam at 93 meters above the Kannepalli pump house can divert this water seamlessly to Annaram and Sundilla reservoirs, completely bypassing the damaged Medigadda barrage and recharging the entire water network,” Kavitha said. She said the proposed solution requires an estimated ₹25 crore and can be completed within 45 days. “Out of 1.36 crore acres of arable land in Telangana, crops have been sown in 1.1 crore acres and are now in their critical stages requiring urgent water and power supplies.

Govt must procure power immediately to safeguard the crops,” she said. Addressing the media, she highlighted the severe drought conditions gripping Telangana and offered actionable, engineering-backed solutions to the state govt to rescue struggling farmers. TRS promised to hand over the technical details of this proposal to the govt and engineers for review.
