The incident dates to March 23, 2016, in Loknathpur village under Mahrua police station limits. Mansharam’s aunt, Chandrawati, lodged a complaint stating that on the morning of the incident, Mulayam Yadav and Ajay Kumar lured Mansharam from his home on the pretext of offering him paan and took him to Mahrua.
During the trial, the prosecution examined 11 witnesses. After evaluating the evidence and testimonies, the court found 3 of the accused guilty of orchestrating and executing the murder. When Mansharam failed to return home by afternoon, his family began searching for him. They later learned he went to a feast in Loknathpur village. Despite extensive efforts, he could not be traced.

The court sentenced each of them to life imprisonment under IPC Sections 302/34 read with 120B, along with a fine of ₹10,000 each. In default of payment, they will undergo an additional 3 months of simple imprisonment.
The judgment was delivered by Additional Sessions Judge Ram Vilas Singh. The convicted include Mulayam Yadav, Ajay Kumar Yadav, and former block head Ajay Pratap Singh alias Ajay Sipahi.
