A senior cop said: “The trio was systematically carrying out the fraudulent registration of ineligible individuals without any supporting land records and misusing the login IDs and passwords for the official ‘Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana’ portal. Police also seized two laptops, five smart phones, seven activated SIM cards, one finger device and screenshots of illegal transactions along with AnyDesk remote videos. He added that while Shivkumar, a CSC operator, used to make direct entries on the portal after illegally collecting money from ineligible individuals, Anurag Gupta, a contractual VRC operator posted at Kunda, had allegedly bypassed the official ID and password to cause a leak. Jitendra Kumar was a key associate of the syndicate and a network partner responsible for laundering the proceeds of illicit transactions. Download the TOI App.
