Lucknow: The Sultanpur cyber crime police on Thursday arrested three men accused of allegedly facilitating as many as 75 cyber frauds by obtaining bank accounts on the pretext of arranging loans and using fraudulent links to siphon money from victims’ accounts.
Police said that the accused allegedly approached people with offers of helping them obtain loans and persuaded them to hand over or provide access to their bank accounts. Superintendent of police Vineet Jaiswal said investigators are examining the bank accounts allegedly used by the accused, tracing transaction trails and probing the involvement of other persons and entities. The arrested accused were identified as Dheeraj Kumar Pandey, Anand Raj Verma and Shailesh Kumar Verma. The matter came to light after a victim lodged a complaint at the cyber crime police station. During the investigation, police found that several complaints against the accused were already filed on the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal (NCRP).
