Kanpur: A 35-year-old driver allegedly died by suicide at his home in Nayapurwa under Juhi police station limits in Kanpur on Tuesday, police said.
They told police that after his wife left for her job around 10am, he entered a room. The boy’s cries alerted neighbours, who helped inform the police. Police reached the spot, completed the necessary formalities and sent the body for post-mortem examination.
Family members said he had been under severe stress for the past few days due to a dispute. When he did not come out for a long time, his son called out to him but received no response. The family then looked through the window and found him hanging from a ceiling fan.
The SHO said the matter was under investigation and the circumstances surrounding the death would become clear after the post-mortem report. Further legal action would be taken upon receipt of a complaint.
